The Gospel According to Swing is an electrifying, “tour de force” concert that journeys from early gospel through jazz. From Mahalia Jackson, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and beyond, Byron Stripling celebrates music that’s oozing with the spirit and passion of gospel and bubbling with the joy of jazz. Finally, this concert wraps up with a soul stirring jam session combined with the beat of an old time revival. Selections include “Amazing Grace”, “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen”, and “Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight.”

Journey to another galaxy as your Philharmonic transports you into the music of sci-fi’s greatest film and television favorites including “Star Wars”, “Avatar”, “E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial”, “Star Trek”, “2001: A Space Odyssey”, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, and many more! Don’t be surprised if you’re greeted at the door by real-life storm troopers! Special lighting effects also add to the excitement of this “stunning” event. Come dressed as your favorite character and prepare for an experience that’s “Out of This World!”
